Tarifs - as of 2008-
The valid tariff in Berlin is the "Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg" (VBB).
Benefits: you can use all means of public transport in Berlin and surrounding with your ticket. Berlin, Brandenburg an der Havel, Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder) and Potsdam are split in the tariff sections A, B and C. Section C covers the areas near the city. Potsdam is part of section C of Berlin.
The sections are shown on the network map. A detailed version can be found in the route atlas of the BVG. The atlas can be purchased at any BVG-shop.
Section A: City of Berlin including the S-Bahn Ring
Section B: beyond the S-Bahn Ring and until city limit
Section C: Suburban area including the city of Potsdam
A ticket for the sections A and B is always the right ticket to discover Central Berlin.
