Old Museum

The Old Museum at the Lustgarten is now actually the oldest museum in Berlin. It was the first building on the Museum Island in the period 1825-1830 after the design by Karl Friedrich Schinkel and one of the most important monuments of classicism.
 
On the main floor, part of the collection of antiques, sculptures, weapons, gold jewelry and silver treasures of Greek art and cultural history of the Cycladic culture to the Roman era can be seen. Upstairs in August 2005 to visit until it moves to the Neues Museum in 2009, the collection of the Egyptian Museum.
