True to the motto of the World Cup 2006 “a time to make friends”, every year on the last weekend of September the largest and most prestigious marathon of Germany takes place.

This year…

…the 46th BMW Berlin Marathon will take place on September 28/29, 2019 and will transform Berlin into a sports-mad metropolis. No one can escape the marathon this weekend, because both on Saturday and of course on Sunday, different runs on the 42.195 kilometres long course take place.

What about you? Are you among the 40,000 participants of the Berlin Marathon or rather among the approximately 1 million spectators along the course? Do you accompany your kids who participate in the Bambini-Running or mini-MARATHON? Do you do the Inlineskating Marathon or do you want to get yourself in the right mood for the big day, thus you run the Breakfast Run “Nice and Easy” from 9:30am from the Schloss Charlottenburg towards the Olympiastadion? In these 6 kilometres you can get yourself in running mood.

The Berlin-Marathon will then start on Sunday morning with the wheelchair competitors. They will open the marathon and will then be followed by the handbikers. A quarter-hour later, at 9:15 pm, the runners start their personal challenge and set out on their arduous journey through our beloved Berlin.

If you should be among the participants of the BMW Berlin-Marathon, then you will probably have no eyes for the beautiful backdrop of Berlin, that presents itself to you. No. You are please focused and do your own thing. Therefore, I will tell you briefly what you pass on your run through Berlin.

Straße des 17. Juni mit Blick auf die Siegessäule bei Sonnenuntergang in Berlin

Right at the beginning, you run through our beautiful park Großer Tiergarten. The Victory Column in mind, you will be inspired to give your best. Through the areas Tiergarten and Moabit, you come then towards the centre and run along the arcuate Torstraße. This street runs parallel to Linienstraße where our CALMA Berlin Mitte is located.
On it goes direction Berlin TV Tower to the Strausberger Platz where you can admire the beautiful neoclassical buildings with their bright facades. Past the Kottbusser Tor, on it goes towards Neukölln, along the large park Hasenheide until you then reach on your way to Schöneberg at the height of our LINDEMANN’S already at kilometre 21 and thus half the total distance of the Berlin-Marathon. You even directly pass the hotel, maybe you have even one second, to wave our team at reception.

The course takes you further and further to the southwest, till you get to Steglitz. Again, our Anna 1908 is only a stone’s throw from the track removed and anything but far from the happening. Of course, at this important event, the track must go along the Kurfürstendamm, the Memorial Church and the KaDeWe until you arrive again at the Potsdamer Straße.
And as chance will have it, the Berlin-Marathon course leads past the road of our fourth hotel, our fjord hotel berlin.
Now you have already almost made it. Only over the Potsdamer Platz and you are in a direct way to the Brandenburg Gate and the finish line.

Wow, what a grandiose course!

But you probably noticed already, our 4 LINDEMANN HOTELS® are distributed throughout the city, yet right where the action is and where Berlin has something to offer.
As a spectator, of course, it is perfect for you, you can watch the marathon quite relaxed directly at the track or cheer euphorically on your loved ones directly.

Either way, the LINDEMANN HOTELS® and the 46th BMW Berlin-Marathon offers you an unforgettable experience.
