Fish seeks Bike!
Ahem, pardon me?! Yes, exactly! The legendary party for singles “Fish seeks Bike” took place in the Kalklscheune. For that the Kalkscheune in Berlin is still well known today. Indeed, nowadays the party still brings hearts together, but the venue directly beside Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin is more varied than ever.
The historic building used to be a machine factory. The complex bears the name Kalkscheune due to its previous address. In the 19th century in the opposite barn, building lime was stored, that´s why the road was named Kalkscheunenstrasse. Today, the modernised factory building is listed and offers close to Friedrichstrasse various events in a classy ambience.
In summertime, you can enjoy a good meal or hold a gala dinner in the beautiful green courtyard. The 12 rooms of Kalkscheune vary in size and are suitable for any occasion. In there, many workshops and conferences take place as well as conferences and congresses. Also for readings, exhibitions, presentations and press conferences the modern and light-filled rooms of the former machine factory are used.
If you are not attending a meeting or a conference, but just want to party and dance, then you are just right in the Kalkscheune. Every Saturday the old walls of the machine factory transform into a big club! On 4 floors and various dance floors, you can dance to fabulous music and having a good time in a great atmosphere at the “Schöne Party” or “MaBakerClub”-party! The disco fun costs you about 12,00€, worth every penny though!
If you are done with dancing or your event has ended, you can leisurely stroll back to the hotel. The hotel CALMA Berlin Mitte is only 500 metres away from Kalkscheune. Sounds like a wonderful combination or what do you think?
