A very special adress for art lovers is the Auguststrasse in Berlin Mitte. The gallery district is a mix of appealing “Slow Food” restaurants and small art galleries. In this balance you feel comfortable, right away.
Such a variety…
Direct at the crossroad of the August- and Oranienburger Straße you will find the “Ristorante Al Dente”. The restaurant serves Italian food with a lot of regional products. If you prefer the fiery cuisine of Spain the restaurant “Ruz” at the Auguststrase 87 is the best choice for you. At the Brasserie Sud you can select from 3 different menus daily . The french cuisine is based in the number 87.
As I said, you can also find art. Every two years the Auguststrasse is the center for the “Berlin Biennale”. The exhibition provides visitors with exhibits contemporary art by international artists. Behind the house number 68 “me Collectors Room Berlin” is hidden. This is an exhibition house with an area of 1300 m².
In and around the Auguststasse over 30 galleries are located, so here you can find somthing for every taste. After so much of art you can go “schwofen” (Berlin word for cozily dance) in Clärchens Ballhaus. The 1913 opened dance club is one of the few remaining bale houses. So you can perfectly combine culture and history.
